Keith Leakey, DVM  

Dr. Leakey graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He spent 6 years working as an associate at a busy practice just east of Dallas, where he grew up. He started out as a kennel technician at the practice in Dallas, at the age of 18, and worked his way up and was there every summer through college!  In 2011, he and Dr. Bullock decided that the Hill Country was where they wanted to try things on their own and the rest is history! One of his favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is the chance to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets. He truly believes in treating them as if they were his own. He likes to keep things fun and efficient while helping to maintain the culture we have at the CanyonVet hospitals. He was married to his wife, Megan, in 2006 and they welcomed a baby girl in 2014! They have a Schnauzer Mix named Frannie and a King Charles named Pixie. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and getting those 18 holes of golf in!


Christa Lambert, DVM

Dr. Christa Lambert, a Texas native, attended University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine in Dublin, Ireland. Upon graduation she worked at a mixed animal practice in Wichita Falls, TX before finding her way down to the beautiful h…ill country. Dr. Lambert is excited to be joining CanyonVet’s family of fellow Aggies – She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. In her down time, she enjoys reading, traveling, roller skating and spending time with her lovable English Setter, Maybelline and a playful, one-eyed, 3-legged feline named Rooster Catburn.


Cameron Jacobs, DVM

Dr. Cameron Jacobs grew up in Austin, Texas! Dr. Jacobs attended Texas A&M for undergrad and his master’s degree. He then attended Oklahoma State for Veterinary School.  In his spare time, he enjoys sports (watching and playing), hiking, biking, reading, spending time with his friends, family and fiancee Mallory! Dr. Jacobs has two dogs named Lambeau & Scarlett!


Justin Casares, DVM

Dr. Justin Casares graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science in 2015, and from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. He is originally from Mission, TX and grew up working in a busy mixed animal practice there along with being extremely active in FFA. During veterinary school, he met his college sweetheart, Dr. Lauren Casares, and they got hitched shortly after graduating veterinary school! After graduation, they moved to the Texas Hill Country and started practicing at a mixed animal practice before joining the CanyonVet team in 2019. During his down time he enjoys traveling, sports (especially Aggie football!), working with livestock, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with their three dogs, Cheyenne, Holly, and RB!


Michelle – Human Resources Administrator

Michelle comes to us with a passion for the medical side of things and has spent most of her time in the medical field. Michelle has a collected 30 + years of customer service and management  – 15 of those years managing The South Texas Blood N Tissue Blood Bank. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys her 8 grandchildren, spending time on the ranch with the cattle and horses and gardening!


Stephanie – Lead Receptionist

Stephanie has been working in the veterinary field since 2014. Stephanie is married to her high school sweetheart and has two handsome boys who love to play Sports! Stephanie moved to the lake from San Antonio in 2016. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, home remodel and spending time on the lake! Stephanie has three hairy kiddos; a Black Mouth Cur named Duke, an Shepard Mix name Otto, and a Brittany Spaniel named Scarlett Rose!


Lacey – Receptionist

Lacey has over 9 years veterinary experience! Lacey keeps busy volunteering frequently throughout the Canyon Lake Community, serving on the PTA and soccer board duties. All of this on top of raising two very active, soccer playing boys! Lacey currently has three cats, 1 dog and 13 chickens! Ethel and Thelma are pictured here!


Keri – Technician

Keri is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana! Keri moved to Canyon Lake this year and is loving every minute of it! Keri has been a Veterinary Technician since 2003 and shares her home with five furbabies! She has two mixed breed dogs named Silas and Beauxdee and three cats named Sully, Shelby and Gordon. In her free time she enjoys camping, kayaking and spending time with friends and family!


Isabella – Technician

Isabella has a few years under her belt in the veterinary field! She started out helping as a boarding technician and is now a technician. Isabella plans to further her experience and career by going to Veterinary Technician school. Isabella has three dogs; a Pit Bull/ Boxer mix named Mango, a Boston Terrier named Bawstin and a Pit Bull named Bohdi! In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with family and friends on the river and photography.


Emily – Technician

Emily is originally from California and moved to Texas in May of 2016 as a newlywed with her husband. Emily has been working in the veterinary field since 2016, and previously taught competitive dance for 4 years. Emily has a passion for all things medicine and is a huge BYU football and Softball fan! Emily has two dogs, Samson an Aussie mix and Hollie, a senior Chihuahua, and has a Ball Python named Rincewind. In her spare time, you can catch her reading anything she can get her hands on or studying towards her nursing degree!


Amy – Technician

Amy has been passionately working with animals since she was 18 years old. Amy has much experience working in shelters and animal hospitals. Amy has four dogs that are all deaf and understand sign language. Amy also has six feline friends. Amy moved to Canyon Lake in 2016 from Victoria, Texas and loves living at the lake! When she isn’t doing the job she loves, or cleaning up after her zoo at home she enjoys spending her time sitting next to the lake. Amy also dabbles in a little painting with she has the time.


Ariel – Receptionist

Ariel’s love for animals started at a young age working and training at multiple horse ranches with her mother. This led to training dogs in Austin for the last 3 years where she learned a lot! Ultimately she decided it was time to learn the veterinary side of animal care and moved back to the area to work at CCAH (and she is loving every minute of it!). She and her adorable little pup Biggie can usually be found relaxing and cooling off at the lake on days off.


Brittany – Groom Bather

Lovin life with a couple of feisty chihuahuas, a crazy kitten, and a great guy.


Angela – Technician

I recently moved to the Canyon lake area from a small town of Florida.  I have been working in the veterinary field since I was 16, and before that helped my family run a boarding/ training facility in Athens, Ga. When I’m not working in the clinic, you can usually find me outside! Camping, kayaking, fishing, you name it! My love for the outdoors is just as strong as my love for animals.


Jackie – Lead Boarding Technician

Jackie grew up here in the Texas Hill Country and has been working in Veterinary clinics since she was in high school! Jackie has two dogs, a Husky named Lily and a Yorkie Mix named Ruggles! She also has 3 cats! When she is not busy at work or with her two children she is reading and spending time outdoors!


Linda – Boarding Technician

Linda started at Canyon City March of 2011. Linda helps out wherever she can at the clinic – her favorite part is loving on all of our boarding guests! She has a Border Collie named Bo Shiner. She enjoys spending time with her family & friends in her spare time.


Alex – Technician Assistant

Alex has spent most of her career in Internet Tech Support but her father worked at a circus and so growing up she was always around animals! She has two dogs, Cosmo Kramer & Jace! And she also has a teeny kitty named Pyro who you may see greeting you at the clinics! In her spare time you can find her hiking with her crew!


Anissa – Boarding Technician

Anissa is the Vice President of Student Council and FFA. She is currently raising a steer in FFA, named Alabaster! She has a family of 6 chickens, two dogs, two cats and a tortoise. Anissa plans to go to A&M for a degree in Animal Sciences & Veterinary Medicine. In her limited spare time she enjoys hanging out on the river and swimming in the lake!


Kayla – Technician Assistant

Kayla has always had a strong passion for working with animals. Kayla grew up in a small town deep in the heart of the Hill Country called Lometa and has always had a lot of animals. Kayla currently has a one year old Labrador Terrier Mix named Phoenix. Kayla’s hobbies include going to the river and lake, catching reruns of the television show called The Office and taking Phoenix out for adventures with her boyfriend!


Sarah – Boarding Technician

Sarah moved back to the Hill Country from San Antonio in July of 2018. Sarah has a Snorkie named Bailey and a Bearded Dragon named Ivanka! Sarah has been working with animals since 2011! Sarah enjoys being outdoors, going out with friends and re-watching Parks & Rec episodes!


Jessica – Boarding Technician

Jessica always had a passion for animals and nurturing and helping others. Before joining the CanyonVet family she previously worked at an elementary school and a care facility for the mentally disabled for two years. Jessica currently has a 3 year old female Boxer named Vera, a two year old male Boxer named Pachelli, and a two year old male Pit Bull named Valor. She is a new mommy to her beautiful daughter Araceli Rose. When she’s not busy at work or with her daughter she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and furbabies!


Anastasia – Boarding Technician

Anastasia has been working with animals since 2013 and found her passion working with animals when she became a Pet Trainer. She can’t wait to continue her education on the medical side of things. She has aspirations of making this her career! She has two dogs; Arthur & Echo and one cat; Atreus at home that are her babies! She and her husband love to go to the river with the pups or relax at home!


Giovanna – Receptionist

Giovanna has worked with animals in years past and loves it! She has three pets; one cat named Alice, two dogs named Duke and Harlym. Gio’s hobbies outside of work are listening to music, singing and working on her relationship with God by reading the Bible and taking classes on how to use more spiritual gifts.

In order to offer you the best, all team members are required to complete a 12 month staff training and education course. Upon completion, the team member is considered “Canyon Certified”. Everyone in the Canyon Family works hard to complete this course and is proud to be Canyon Certified!
