Pet of the Month for January 2020

This is Roxy! She is a spunky 8 year old dachshund mix that had a Cystotomy performed here by Dr. Jacobs. Roxy had been dealing with bladder stones for a few months that kept causing her to have chronic Urinary Tract Infections. At first Dr Jacobs recommended a non invasive option that could possibly help dissolve the stones, a prescription diet. Roxy was given the prescription diet called “Royal Canin SO”. This veterinary-exclusive dry dog food was developed to nutritionally support an adult dog’s urinary tract and bladder health. It increases the amount of urine your dog produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Unfortunately, the urinary tract infections started to become a lot more often so Dr. Jacobs recommended surgical removal of the stones. Roxy successfully went through and recovered from surgery and is now back to her spunky self!
